Description
This took me 15 hours or so in photoshop. I used some textures from hi-res photos I took, along with a few that I found online. It started as a 6000x9000 document able to make a 20x30 poster @ 300 ppi, but cropping reduced that plan to rubble . I feel that I've taken this particular piece as far as it can go and am anxious to get working on something new. Let me know what you think.

The second overexposure issue I see a lot is when dealing with lighting dynamics. Often a hue/saturation or color balance adjustment with preserve luminosity checked will overexpose the light source and define sharp edges instead of softly defining radiance and power. I see this in the nebula work. Softness of light should be the dominate thoughts in mind. the power and radiosity of light can still be overwhelming to the eyes if it is presnted softly and richly.
I think you have some good ideas and it's obvious that you experiment and explore thouroughly in this genre. It's not the object creation that is a future challenge now... It's being meticulous and detailed in compositional areas of presentation. Keep things detailed and rich for the eyes.
